Thanks a lot for sharing this info. This information was indeed very helpful as I was trying to retrieve posts based on tag names (which have spaces) and could not find a way to this anywhere – Finally found your blog and it works perfectly.

I started playing with some of the options listed on Ubuntugeek and my sound started working. Mind you, it worked before when I did an upgrade from 8.10 to 9.04, but wasn’t working out of the box on 9.04. This time I installed 9.04 and upgraded to 9.10 beta, which I’m currently running. I will say this – Firefox 3.5 makes all the difference in the whole wide world – it’s just THAT much faster than 3.0 ever was on this thing.

Do you achieved to fix your sound problem? I’m facing the same problem (X31 Thinpad w/ Ubuntu 9.04).
